From start to finish, it was a loonie year on the business beat.
The Canadian dollar went from lame duck to bat out of hell, topping 77 cents U.S. for the first time in a decade, to the delight of travellers and exasperation of exporters.
A year ago, it was just over 63 cents U.S.

Sales of the cow ointment, manufactured by the Dr. A.C. Daniels Co. Ltd., skyrocketed. And just in time, said Diane Smith, whose family now runs the the company, "otherwise we'd have been finished for sure."
