Six-time Grammy winner Ronnie Milsap, a country boy from Robbinsville, N.C., has managed to amass 40 No. 1 country hits since he started recording in 1965. Pop fans will know his smash hits Smoky Mountain Rain and It Was Almost Like a Song. Ronnie, blind at birth, has always had a quick smile and a great sense of humor about his lack of sight and just about everything else in his life.

Five deserted-island discs
1. Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music, Ray Charles. I don't think I could make it without that. I knew all of those songs. Those were all of the hits, the radio songs.
2. Sweet Baby James, James Taylor. He just poured his whole heart into it. That's the music I like, music that makes me feel something. Laugh or cry, happy or sad, if it doesn't do any of those things, it's like having a meal and an hour later you don't remember what you ate.
3. It Looks Like Rain, Mickey Newberry. He's an incredible songwriter. I used to hang out with him quite a bit and recorded quite a few of his songs. This album is $250 on eBay. Mine's pristine, it's great and it's not going anywhere.
4. Caribou, Elton John. I loved all the things he did. Don't Let the Sun, ***** Is Back. Every cut on that album is a masterpiece. He's one of those once-in-a-lifetime artists.
5. Green Snakes, Johnny Bush. That's a good one. He's doing fun.
Five things I can't live without
1. My wife, Joyce. We've been married 38 years. We got married real young. I played a gig that night and we've done it ever since.
2. My son, Todd, and my grandchildren.
3. Cell phone with voice synthesizer. It tells you when your battery's low and what your power is.
4. Braille 'n' Speak. It's a note-taker. I use it all the time on the road. Kinda like any other PDA, but a lot smaller. Six keys for Braille alphabet and spacebar.
5. My Braille Playboy. I really do read the articles.
The three sexiest people ever
1. Meg Ryan. I don't see her, but it's what she does project and communicate that I pick up on. It's her whole person. She tells a story.
2. Judy Garland. I'm into when movies were really good. When she acted and performed, she was 100 stories up without a net. You thought she was gonna fall any second, but she never did.
3. Shania Twain. I'm sorry, but I have to pick her. The writing and what she brings out of herself. She was on Oprah not too long ago and she was incredible and honest. Good vibe.
